“I didn’t know we had such an undiscovered gem here on Vancouver Island”

– Scott James, Program Director Q100.3 FM Victoria

“I was looking for something energetic and fresh and found it in Tom Lang’s Super Sonic CD. After multiple listenings it just gets deeper and better!”

– Longevity John/Duncan Showroom

Tom Lang is a musician and songwriter in Victoria, Canada whose universal themes of acceptance, encouragement, hope and compromise make up his original music catalog of 3 Cds and recent single. Lovingly crafted Funk, Rock, Reggae and even Country-influenced vibes are expertly rendered leaving listeners grooving to his driving rhythms and adept songcraft.

Tom is proudest of his song lyrics; from his first band in Florence, Italy to initial recordings in high school in Dallas, Texas to headline tours of Australia as key sideman to Aussie megastar Jimmy Barnes, Tom has gathered experiences and honed his songwriting to imbue his songs with incisive clarity and empathy.

Tom earned the Island Music Awards Male Songwriter of the Year for “There’s More To You” which led to the song being used for a Viking Air video promotion. An exciting live guitarist/keyboardist and singer, Tom’s years with Jimmy Barnes’ band included opening for ZZ Top for 65 dates, then multiple headline tours across Oz. One tour, dubbed “Australian Made”, featured INXS, Divinyls and other homegrown talent that became a movie theatre release Down Under.

The Oz connection continued with recording Australia’s Divinyls (I Touch Myself/Austin Powers) album “Tempermental” in legendary Sunset Studios LA, recording guitar, Hammond organ, Steinway and synthesizers as well as singing backup vocals.

Currently, the Tom Lang Band rocks the Vancouver Island venues playing his uptempo catalog interspersed with songwriting process notes and anecdotes.
